Election results for the Class of 2018 class council race were announced on Friday, September 19th.

Voting took place on Wednesday, September 17th and Thursday, September 18th, when freshmen students had a nine hour period to vote in Davison and most of the lobbies of the freshman residence halls, where freshman voted after the window for voting in Davison had closed.

To prevent freshmen from voting more than once, students were required to show their Saint Anselm student ID.

For class president, Jake Harty, a nursing major from Dorchester, MA, was elected. He has a long history of community service not only in his own community, but in other areas of the world.

Emma Bishop, a politics major from Swampscott, MA, was elected into the class council as Vice President. She served on her high school class council and played an important role in planning many of her senior events back in her hometown.

The class of 2018’s class secretary is Rebecca O’Keeffe, a politics major from Tyngsborough, MA. She served as secretary for both her high school’s Student Government Association and National Honor Society Chapter, and has been a part of planning more than twelve socials, four semis and two proms.

The race for senators this year was an interesting one. Not only did all of the 3 candidates inevitably become elected, but they were joined by a 4th candidate, a last minute write-in.

The 4 senators on the Class of 2018 council are Alexander Cadman, Allia Connolly, Brandon Pratt and Eric Bourque.
