Can you feel your toe tapping? Do you hear the skirl of the pipes? Does the lilt of Irish laughter, literature, and lore linger long in your imagination?
If you do, you might be anticipating the Saint Anselm College Irish Club’s annual Christmas ceilidh, “Holly on the Harp.” Members of the Irish Club/Celtic Society have invited all members of the college community to join them at the ceilidh on Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2012, at 8 P.M. at the coffee shop, according to Sean Connolly, ’14, president of the club.
Among the groups performing will be the Saint Anselm Irish Heritage Dancers, organized by Hilary Gorgol, ’14; pipers and drummers from the New Hampshire Pipes and Drums Band of Manchester; Joe Deleault and his folk band; Matt Robbins, Matt Pendergast, and Nate Chartier and their band Transelm; and pianist Dao Hu Le, an international student from Vietnam.
Students interested in learning a little Irish step dance will have the opportunity to do so.
Connolly said there is a distinct possibility that a visitor from the North Pole might arrive at the ceilidh, although the visitor may be preoccupied preparing to celebrate the feast of Saint Nicholas on the following day, Dec. 6.
