Saint Anselm College celebrates 7th annual Days of Giving

Morgan Sweeney, Guest Writer

Mark your calendars for Saint Anselm College’s seventh annual Days of Giving on March 30-31! Over the course of this 48 hour fundraising campaign, we hope to engage our community to reflect on their time on the Hilltop, a time when Anselmians find their home and meet so many who inspire them.

Faculty, staff, members of the monastic community and alumni care deeply for the well-being of our success as students – and show it through big and small moments: whether it was a second chance on a tough assignment, a cup of coffee or lunch with a mentor, or a professor who changed your worldview. During this year’s Days of Giving we challenge our Anselmian community to Give, Share, and Thank in honor of those Anselmian Influencers who have made a lasting difference in their lives.

When presented with the theme surrounding this year’s Anselmian Influencer campaign, Dr. Joseph A. Favazza, Ph.D., president of the college said “This year, I have been inspired by our community that has worked tirelessly to ensure that our students have a true Anselmian experience. This Days of Giving, I ask you to join me in honoring those Anselmians who have impacted your life by making a gift of any size, sharing a story of those who inspired you, and celebrating what the Hilltop means to us all even in the face of adversity.”

The goal of the campaign is to bring together 1,000 donors – students, faculty, staff, alumni, parents, friends, and the monastic community to highlight our unsung heroes and what they have meant to our Anselmian experience.  Days of Giving is hosted by the Office of Advancement whose mission is to promote philanthropic contributions to the college in the form of generous donations and alumni participation, however, the success of the Days of Giving relies on the support of the entire Anselmian community!

This is a participation-based campaign, which means no gift is too small, your participation alone will help us reach our goal. Last year’s Days of Giving broke records, thanks to over 1,500 Anselmian Donors who supported the Hilltop during what was a difficult year for so many. This year we are asking our Anselmian community to come together again.

Why Give? Saint Anselm College, a nonprofit institution, depends on philanthropic support to ensure all students who want to be a part of the community, can do so. Tuition alone only covers a portion of the cost needed to give students the experience they rely on, including access to scholarships and financial aid. Saint Anselm’s success, and the success of its students, is reinforced through members of our community giving back.

Every gift makes a direct impact on the college’s ranking in publications like the U.S. News and World Report. Your generosity not only ensures that every student who steps foot on the Hilltop has access to resources to advance both academically and spiritually, but also can make an impact in the future of Saint Anselm and shape Anselmian experiences for generations to come.

So how can you help? Make a gift of any size on March 30 and 31 in honor of your Anselmian Influencer. You can choose where you would like your gift allocated, whether that be your favorite academic department, a student-run club or organization, to undergraduate research, Diversity and Inclusion Initiatives, an athletics team, or whatever area has impacted your time on the Hilltop the most.. After you have made your gift, challenge your family and friends to do the same!

Where can you find us? Track our campaign’s success live on GiveCampus throughout the 48-hours and check out the donor heat-map to see where the Hilltop has taken our alumni. Keep an eye out for student-centered pop-up events and giveaways around campus throughout the two days by following @AnselmianAlumni on Instagram. Become a campus advocate, and share our progress on social media, using #AnselmianGiving to spread the word. Help us honor our Anselmian Influencers and together, Give, Share, and Thank on this year’s Days of Giving.
