Auditions for the Abbey Players’ Spring Cabaret were held this week.  The theme of this year’s cabaret is “So Good to Be Bad,” where the featured songs will be villains’ songs from shows or movies.  Any song featuring an antagonist singing or in which the antagonist is featured without his or her presence will be the theme.  These songs can range from “Gaston” from The Beauty and the Beast soundtrack to “Feed Me (Git It)” from The Little Shop of Horrors soundtrack.

Senior Tim Manilla is performing the latter in auditions this year.  Manilla stated, “I’ve participated in cabaret twice before. Freshmen year, I sang and sophomore year I was an MC (Master of Ceremonies).”

The auditions took place on Wednesday, March 15.  Each audition was only one minute of a song, and each auditioner will be featured in the opening, middle, and closing songs of the performance.  The dress rehearsal is on April 18 and the performance will be on April 19. The director of this year’s Spring Cabaret is senior Mark Kelly.
