Anthony Pasquarosa ‘25 was at club frisbee practice in the fall of 2022 when he first met Chris Carville ‘26. Little did they know that in a year they would be playing in a band called Fever Dog alongside Charlie Dalsass ‘26 and Gabe Wescott ‘26. The group has drawn attention among the Saint Anselm community, having performed a concert on Friday, October 13 which attracted over 200 attendees on a cold October night in front of Alumni Hall. So, who is Fever Dog?
Fever Dog is a band made up of four Saint Anselm students, with Pasquarosa on bass, Carville as vocalist, Dalsass on guitar, and Wescott on drums. Pasquarosa commented, “I can’t really put my finger on when we really got started. All 4 of us started this band in about March and we have been playing together since then. CAB reached out to me to play spring weekend last semester. Chris had already jammed with Charlie and Gabe, so I eventually asked Chris if he wanted to perform with me and he brought the other guys together.”
As director of the Campus Activities Board, senior Zach Castro became aware of the band after hosting Pasquarosa’s previous band, Rock Bottom, at Hawkfest two years ago. He said, “I knew that Anthony had formulated a new all-student band with other freshmen last year. So, we decided to invite them to perform at Spring Weekend. They were such a good hit that we wanted to bring them back for another big event outside of spring weekend.”
One of the noticeable features of the band is their group dynamic. Pasquarosa noted, “Chris, Charlie, and Gabe are so talented. They are just incredible musicians and I think everyone is really good at playing with each other and forms an amazing team.”
Sophomore Justin Bergeron saw Fever Dog’s Spring Weekend 2023 performance and caught part of their Friday the 13th performance. Bergeron said, “I certainly like their chemistry. I feel like us students always say, ‘Wow! That guy on stage! I know him!’ That really gets students pumped, which just shows how much a part of the community they are.”
The Oct. 13th concert celebrated Halloween with a Friday the 13th theme. Fever Dog began their performance in ghostbusters costumes and played “Ghostbusters.” The band performed for about an hour and a half, with a constant crowd for most of the concert.
Reflecting on the performance, Pasquarosa spoke highly about the Saint Anselm community. “It is always so much fun to work with CAB. The entire board is so supportive and fun to be around. We are glad that everyone seems to enjoy us playing.”
Ellie Meighan, ’24, helped design the t-shirts for the night and was present at the performance. While commenting on the performance, Meighan said, “I thought they did amazing. The music they picked suits them and showed off their skills as musicians. I loved that so many students came and how they were engaging with us.”
As the band continues working towards the future, Pasquarosa is excited to continue to perform with the band. “We have a few more shows and other things we are working on but for now we just want to play live as much as we can and just have fun with what we are doing.” The band is also working on some original songs.
Castro spoke about the special bond CAB has formed with the band. “We would like to keep having this special bond as a part of our programming with the school. Our goal is to get the student body engaged, and I was really happy to see it unfold last Friday. I would personally love to make another performance happen again in the future.”
