On the weekends, campus culture really comes alive. It is an opportunity for everyone to let loose and relax after a long hard week. However, over the past few weeks I have noticed strange behavior from fellow students while up at Benedict Court (Uppers). There have been instances of people throwing things such as sealed cans and other objects into the mass crowd that tends to procure at Uppers. One evening in particular is the source of writing this. A dear friend of mine was hit with one of these sealed cans– she now has a bone bruise on her shoulder. On top of this there were ears of corn being thrown into the crowd as well. It is also with my understanding of the entire situation that these people throwing these things are from the class of 2028. So a bit of advice to the class of 2028… get your stuff together. There is absolutely ZERO setting for anyone to be doing anything like this. It is immature and can be harmful to others if caught in the line of fire. If it was meant to be a joke, it wasn’t. If you were trying to get a laugh, you didn’t. As a matter of fact, you annoyed most people who were there that night. What I want to know is what possessed these individuals to do something like this. It’s not funny, nor is it the smartest thing. God forbid someone got hit in the head and hurt themselves from your actions. Grow up. You’re in college. Act like it.
