The Student Government Association has been hard at work as the semester draws to a close here at Saint Anselm College. Significant advancements have been made in the creation of an Honor Code, the relief effort for Hurricane Sandy, and the New England Alliance. Work on all of these projects, as well as others that continue to develop, will continue right up until the break and continued over break.
A group of students met and established an Anselmian Code. This honor code aims to encapsulate all that it means to be an Anselmian. The Anselmian Code has been finalized from a student perspective and will be presented to the faculty and administration.
The ongoing effort to help those who have been affected by Hurricane Sandy has been a momentous success. Groups of students have been traveling down to the areas worst affected and helping to clean up and rebuild. SGA is donating $250 and has raised an additional $76.23 in student donations for the relief effort.
The New England Alliance was major success and many ideas from the conference have been brought to light and are going to be brought to the discussion table in the near future. Some of these ideas include Town Hall style meetings and the possibility of bringing a Redbox to campus. Students are also in the process of working with administrators to create a new dorm proposal. The initiative started with a Student Government Association resolution.
We are looking forward to another great semester here at Saint Anselm College with plenty of things for the students. On January 26th, we will be kicking of the semester with a school-wide Winter Ball. The formal will be white and blacked theme and will take place in a transformed Carr Center from 9 pm to midnight! Make sure you bring back your dresses and ties!
As the semester draws to a close, the members of the SGA are working harder than ever to create change in our community. We would like to wish good luck on your finals and hope that you have a very wonderful holiday season. If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to email [email protected].
