The Saint Anselm College community welcomed three new members to the Board of Trustees. The new members are Susan R. (Berthiaume) Norton, D.N.P., ‘78, Chris M. Salamone, Esq., ‘84, and Br. Dunstan Noah Enzor, O.S.B.. The new members were added to the board as the college looks to continue major projects on campus, including the development of the new Nursing Institute.
President Favazza spoke on the addition of the new members at the groundbreaking of the Jean School of Nursing and Health Sciences, saying, ““As we move forward with exciting plans that will advance the future of Saint Anselm, we are so fortunate to have these talented individuals to help guide our journey,”
Susan Horton has many ties to the Saint Anselm Community. She, her husband, Dr. Joseph M. Horton, and her son, Dr. Ben Horton, are all alumni of the college. Her husband served as Vice President of Student Affairs and Dean of Students until 2018. Dr. Ben Horton is currently Assistant Dean for First Year Students and Academic Support Services. Well entrenched in the college community, Susan is familiar with the Benedictine values of the college and offers great experience in hospitality to the board.
Horton graduated in 1978 with a nursing degree and currently serves as a parish nurse navigator at Saint Agnes Parish in Dalton, MA. Horton has received a Masters in Nursing from the University of Rhode Island and a Doctor of Nursing Practice from Northeastern University. Through her nursing experiences, Horton will provide strong insight to the college through the development of the Nursing Institute and looks to be a valuable addition to the board through that process.
Chris M. Salamone graduated from Saint Anselm College in 1984 with a degree in Economics and Business. He received a Juris Doctor from the Nova Southeastern Shepard Broad College of Law, where he currently serves on the advisory board. Salamone played on the men’s basketball team at Saint A’s and the Salamone Family Athletics Hall of Fame is named in honor of his family. Salamone is ana attorney and author who was the CEO of LeadAmerica and National Student Leadership Conference, both of which aimed to prepare strong pre-college students with leadership and service opportunities.
Salamone will provide the board with extensive experience in leadership and advisory qualities. He has worked with several non-profit organizations and has served on their advisory boards and has held an array of advisory positions. These organizations include the Symphony of Americas, Friendship Force International, and Above and Beyond Youth Ministries. Through his work at these organizations, and with his knowledge and dedication to Saint Anselm College, Salamone looks to serve as an excellent resource to the Board of Trustees.
Br. Dustan Enzore professed his solemn vows at the Saint Anselm Abbey in January 2022. He is currently a doctoral candidate in Historical Theology at Boston College. His study focuses on anti-Marcionite themes in commentaries on Psalm 118 by Origen of Alexandria, Hilary of Poitiers, and Ambrose of Milan. Additionally, Br. Enzore has held executive and administrative positions as various institutions, including the University of Colorado Law School. He has also spent time deepening his personal passions, such as epee fencing and theater. Through his theological studies and commitment to the Saint Anselm community, Br. Enzore looks to be a contributing member to the board as he continues his studies at Boston College.
As the college looks to progress their initiatives of the Nursing and Humanities Institutes, as well as continue on ground work on campus, the Board of Trustees is excited to welcome the new members amid these projects. President Favazza calls this time a “momentous time for Saint Anselm” and these trustees aim to be a large part of that success.
