Saint Anselm College will host a special hockey event next week as Northeast Passage sled hockey teams meet to take on Pembroke-Campbell High School and St. A’s Men’s Club Hockey team. Northeast Passage is an adaptive sports program for physically disabled peoples, featuring adapted sled hockey as a means of allowing people without lower body strength and control to participate in ice hockey. The United States has been successful in the sport, winning gold medals in the Vancouver Olympics and the past two World Championships.
George Regan ’13, International Relations, is hosting the event. George’s brother Dan has been playing sled hockey for eight years and is helping organize the event.
The event will take place in Sullivan Arena February 22. The junior sled hockey team will play the high school at 8:30 PM, and the adult team will face Men’s Club Hockey starting at 9:30 PM.
