In a tense and hard-fought game with both sides giving their all, St. Michael’s pulled out a victory 3-0. The Hawks struggled offensively this game, as St. Michael’s defense was one of the hardest to get through.
The Hawks have exhibited consistency throughout the season–they have shown their pride in their school by fighting in each game. The hard work put in during training sessions and the determination displayed on the field show the ferocity the team is approaching the rest of the season with as they take on Saint Michael’s on our home field Tuesday, Oct. 17.
Another critical element of Saint Anselm mens soccer team’s success this season has been their solid defense. Goalkeeper David Hood, has been a brick wall, making crucial saves in numerous matches. Hood is ranked fourth overall for the number of saves he has had this season.
The combination of an efficient defense and a potent offense has been the team’s formula for success, and it’s one that is earning them a reputation as a well-rounded squad. Furthermore, the team’s dedication to the sport is not hard to recognize.
Freshman Prince Ojha discussed the extensive preseason that started Aug. 13. The Hawks were put to work in the weeks prior to the start of the school year, and slacking off was not an option. They are currently ranked 6th in NE10 conference and have a 2-3-2 record.
As the regular season is coming to an end, the Saint Anselm mens soccer team is gearing up for their last games hoping to pull out some more wins. They have a strong belief in their ability to finish off this season strong, and the support from the college community is unwavering.
