NHIOP, Bloomberg Politics partnership offers over 100 internship opportunities

The New Hampshire Institute of Politics and Bloomberg Politics announced a partnership on November 19th which entails joint polls, opportunity for student journalists and major involvement within the Granite State and beyond.

Bloomberg Politics prides itself in its quick and accurate provision of data, facts and news to the public and influential decision makers alike.

The company, which consists of over 15,00 employees in 192 locations, is launching a political television program titled “With All Due Respect,” hosted by political journalists Mark Halpern and John Heilemann.

The program, which first premiered on October 6th at 5 PM on Bloomberg Television, delivers opinions and insight into the national political discourse.

This partnership benefits both NHIOP as well as Bloomberg Politics due to the political leverage that both institutions hold.

NHIOP is at the center of campaigns in the Granite State, which his advantageous for Bloomberg’s coverage of the first in the nation primary state.

Additionally, this partnership entails an internship offered to over 100 Saint Anselm students during which they will be involved with the coverage of Granite State voters.

Neil Levesque, executive director at NHIOP, shared that “Mark Halperin and John Heilemann are our principle contacts to Bloomberg Politics and are both very excited about being here for the primary and working directly with students.”

Levesque continued by sharing that “It’s an exciting thing for Saint Anselm College to have the two biggest names in political journalism working directly with our students.”

Sam Brandeis, a freshman and student ambassador, believes that the partnership with Bloomberg will “Give us experience that will benefit us greatly and teach us the ins-and-outs of journalism as a career.”

Brandeis continued by sharing that being able to work with “Such influential figures like Mark Halperin and John Heilemann is an amazing opportunity.”

The first poll released by this partnership, conducted by Purple Strategies throughout November 12-18, recently released its results.

The poll included 500 probable election voters with a margin of error of 4.4 percent.

Levesque intends for the partnership to flourish and proudly states that “We (NHIOP) are absolutely going to be known for al laspects of politics, including polling. It may take time, but we are off to a good start.”
