Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump.

If I were to tell you that I am a conservative, how would you react?

If I were to tell you that I am a Republican who believes in personal responsibility and an old idea of working for what you receive, what would you say? If you are one of the vast majority of students and college professors that think alike, you would react negatively to this statement. However, there is nothing wrong with reacting like that.

Just like there is no side of history that has been consistently correct, there has never been a political issue that has a common-sense solution which can be agreed upon by all parties. This is a good thing! Everyone has their own interests and their own reasons for thinking the way they do, whether they were brought up that way or whether some event forced them to think in a certain war. Differing opinions are fantastic because they allow us to have different perspectives in life. They allow us to see sides of issues that we normally would never have seen on our own. Even if they fire us up or make us angry, the importance of having different perspectives can never be overstated. Most people recognize that different perspectives are still valuable, and those that do not are usually ostracized. Different opinions make the world go around.

This is why I proudly support Donald J. Trump for the presidency.

I look at Washington today and I see nothing but shady deals and corruption, major issues which need to be addressed. We have politicians that have been in office for over half a century. Our representatives are focusing more on getting re-elected and less on actually representing their constituents. Constituents and the American public are tossed aside whenever money gets in the equation. This is disgusting, and almost everyone agrees on that.

I look at Trump’s opposition and Clinton’s supporters and think, “How can someone support a woman who routinely calls massive swaths of Americans bigots? How can her supporters back this up?” Aren’t we losing sight of the dream Americans have of a clean and fair democracy?

Hillary Clinton and her collusion with the DNC possibly cheated her into the Democratic nomination. She lies and has lied to the American people. She gives speeches to big bank executives and takes their money, yet in the same breath will denounce them as being fat-cats who only care about lining their pockets.

Her charity foundation (while doing a lot of great work, I won’t deny that!) is constantly riddled in controversy. It refuses to disclose big donors to the foundation. Why? The Clinton Foundation accepts money from places like Saudi Arabia, Morocco, Kazakhstan, and many other nations that aren’t exactly bastions of democracy.

To top it all off, for the first time in history our nation has a nominee running for office that is under FBI investigation for the second time. I cannot justify voting for a person that is quite possibly a very high-profile criminal.

Donald Trump believes in a different vision for America. He believes in a vision for a brighter future for everyone, instead of simply pandering to a certain demographic. He believes that everyone should have the same opportunities and will run the US as he runs his business- very well.

I trust Donald because he is one of the most successful people in America, and it was almost entirely his own doing. He began with a one-million dollar loan and turned it into a multi-billion dollar corporation that has done a lot of good in this world. If he runs this country like he runs his company, we as a nation will be incredibly successful.

Donald Trump has promised to “drain the swamp” by imposing Congressional term limits and imposing a five-year gap before members of Congress can become lobbyists, among other policies. He will appoint a worthy successor to the conservative Justice Antonin Scalia, and quite possibly other justices in the following years. He will take down ISIS with common sense, and protect our nation from internal threats.

Why do I trust Donald? I trust him because he has a proven track record of success and stability, while Hillary Clinton has a record of failure and corruption. I do not trust her to run America because her record can only be traced back to a declining political dynasty. When the best dirt they can dig up on Trump goes back to his character and how rich he is, that is pretty pathetic compared to the crimes and shadiness Hillary has gotten away with simply because she is a Clinton.

Actions speak louder than words.

But again, differing opinions make the world go around, so I respect anyone that is politically involved.
