Dance club to perform April 9

The Dance Club will present their spring showcase with the theme “Party Like Gatsby” in the Dana Center on April 9. According to junior Dance Club member Emma Bishop, “The theme is decided each year by the President of Dance Club, which is Brittany Voto, a member of the class of 2017.”

The showcase this year will have 17 different numbers throughout the entire show.  An exciting feature of this year’s show according to Bishop is that they “have a great mix of various styles of dance and every number is student choreographed.”

The Dance Club will “party like Gatsby” April 9 in the Dana Center.

The Dance Club does not have a coach; therefore, the entire showcase is student-run and student-planned.  The most complicated number will be the finale.  As Bishop told the Crier, “I think everyone is most excited for the finale number, as it features each and every dancer in the show. The finale goes right along with the Gatsby theme and showcases the strengths of the dancers.”

The showcase will feature the performances of over 40 different dancers.

The Dance Club was also awarded “Club of the Year” by the Student Government Association.  “We are very excited and honored to receive this award! Our leadership has worked tremendously hard this year and we are eager to prove that in our Showcase.” said Bishop.
