British group ‘Clean Bandit’ to perform music spring weekend

On Saturday April 29, British Electronic music group Clean Bandit will perform in Sullivan Arena as the Hawk’s Spring Concert.  Formed in 2008, the band consists of Grace Chatto, Jack Patterson, and Luke Patterson.

Clean Bandit, known for their electronic-dance/pop hits will undoubtedly perform their two most popular singles, “Rather Be,” which won the Grammy Award for Best Dance Recording in 2015, and “Rockabye,” which features rapper Sean Paul and singer Anne-Marie.

The band’s name comes from a translation of a Russian phrase meaning “utter rascal,” and originally had a fourth member: Neil Amin-Smith, but Smith left the group in 2016.  The breakaway hit, “Rockabye” was the band’s first single since Smith’s departure.

Clean Bandit’s catchy, upbeat, and danceable songs will assuredly go over well with a millennial and energetic crowd.

Tickets are on sale this week and next: $10 for students and $15 for guests.  More information is available through the Campus Activities Board.  Price will increase the day of the show.
