Six from men’s hockey receive spots on NEHC All-Academic Team

Saint Anselm’s men’s hockey team has performed well on and off the ice this season. The Hawks were able to manage a record of 12-12-2 and scored a total of 78 goals in 26 games. Last week six members of the team were honored as members of the 2016-17 New England Hockey Conference All-Academic Team. Brenden Cain, Brendon Kerrigan, Vin D’Amato, Nick Gorski, Joey Harrington, and Colin Soucy were among the 102 student athletes in the NEHC given this honor. In order to receive this honor, each player achieved a GPA of at least 3.0 after having completed one full year at their current institution. D’Amato, Harrington, and Soucy earned this title for the first time in their collegiate careers. Cain, Kerrigan, and Gorski received it for their second time.

Five from women’s hockey named to NEHC All-Academic Team

Saint Anselm’s women’s hockey team had a terrific season, going 22-2-3 overall and 15-1-1 in their conference. Over the course of 27 games the team boasted a whopping 132 goals and an average 4.89 goals per game. Last week five members of the team were honored as members of the 2016-17 New England Hockey Conference All-Academic Team. Jackie Guy, Caley Mueller, Maddie Scavotto, Alex Starzyk, and Hannah Synnott were five of the 147 student athletes given the honor. Synnott has received this honor for an impressive third year straight. Guy and Starzyk earned it for the second year and Mueller and Scavotto were named to the All-Academic Team for their first time.
