The Saint Anselm men’s hockey team is on the move to secure a spot in the NE-10 playoffs and pursue a second straight NE-10 Championship appearance. However, the road for the Hawks has been rather rocky and dicey. The team opened up the seaosn 0-4 and losing by a combined score of 19-5. Despite the rocky start the team bounced back with an overtime win over Southern New Hampsire. Following the win over SNHU, the Hakws took them on again, this time however posting a 9-2 victory in what was a much needed jolt in the Saint Anselm offense. The team continued through their schedule including a shootout victory over at River in Nashua NH. The team also took part in the Bowdin-Colby Thanksgiving Classic. In these matchups the hawks lost both. Following the Thanksgiving Classic, the team continued to fight through their schedule, including a 4-2 win over Assumption before the holiday break. Upon return from the break the Hawks seemed to be refreshed and ready for the rest of their schedule and fight for a playoff spot. The team went on a 3 game win streak which included a 8-4 win over Frammingham State. The team has continued to put tpgether quality wins as the season comes to a close. Looking ahead, the Hawks have two more games before the postseason. Both of these games are against Post, one there and one on the Hilltop. As for seeding they sit 3rd in the conference and are set to host at least one playoff game if they can take care of business aginst Post. In terms of statistics, Cam Collins currently leads the team in assists which puts him 3rd in the conference with 21, as well as being in the top 10 in the conference in total points with 5th ranked 29. Goalie Cam Carroll sits 3rd in the conference in total saves with 513. Carroll also ranks 6th in the conference with a save percentage of .905. As the season comes down to the wire, the Hawks look poised to make serious noise as the NE-10 playoffs loom. If the team can rally together, they are going to be a serious force in the torunament.
