Student deems Orvieto ‘an incredible experience’

A semester on “our other hilltop”

This fall, eleven students and two faculty members are returning to the hilltop after being part of the first ever semester on our “other hilltop” in Orvieto, Italy. The program is the first of its kind here in the sense that students from Saint Anselm travel together with faculty, providing a set sense of community on the first day of the trip.

According to Joaly Rosario, “Studying abroad in Orvieto was an incredible experience. Living in the small, humble, medieval town for three months was a drastic change. I was able to get a firsthand experience on what the Italian lifestyle is like and actually visualize my history textbooks.”

Rosario continued, “Orvieto has a rich culture and dense history dating back to the Etruscans before the common era. This makes it nearly impossible to go somewhere in Orvieto without learning a new fun fact! I definitely see myself traveling back to Orvieto sometime in the near future!”

Sophomores, juniors, and seniors can apply for the next Orvieto session with the deadline this year being Oct. 15.
